Scientist (m/w/d) – Affinity Measurement


mainly focused on protein-ligand affinity measurements to join us in Dresden. The starting date should be as close as possible to October 1st, 2021. The position is initially offered as a maternity leave cover contract with minimum 15 months duration. Depending on performance and the company’s future needs, there is the possibility of extending or making the position permanent.


Your Responsibilities

  • Performing affinity measurements between proteins and DNA-tagged small molecule compounds
  • Analyzing the obtained data and preparing reports on the results
  • Helping to evaluate new technologies for affinity measurements
  • Depending on pipeline demand, assisting with varying (bio)chemistry processes (training will be provided)


What we Require

  • A minimum Master’s degree in (bio)chemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or a highly-related field
  • Experience with performing affinity measurements. Experience with biolayer interferometry is preferred, but experience with alternate technologies (e.g. SPR, MST, ITC) is acceptable
  • Fluent English language skill
  • Ability to work semi-independently and coordinate within a team


What’s Not Necessary but Helpful

  • German language skill
  • Experience with chemistry software and tools (e.g. Chemfinder, RDKit, the ZINC database)
  • Biochemistry/molecular biology experience (e.g. running/cleaning up DNA gels, PCR)
  • Synthetic chemistry experience (e.g. running simple reactions, HPLC, MS)
